The town of Stanley on the south of Hong Kong Island offers a change of pace from the busy atmosphere of the denser parts of Hong Kong. It is near the beautiful, but oddly named Repulse Bay, which is anything but repulsive.
Wong Tai Sin Temple is a major tourist attraction in Hong Kong, and a well known shrine. It was constructed only a century ago, in the 1920’s, but it is a protected heritage area now. Continue reading
Hong Kong Island is the southern, dense part of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It contains Central which is the historical, political, and economic centre of Hong Kong. It also contains Causeway Bay, known for its shopping options, and Kennedy Town which is primarily known for the terminus for the tram.
Hong Kong is a popular world destination for shopping. Most popular fashion designers have several outlets here, and malls are everywhere.
